Funding, in the general election

Every american citizen has the right to vote, but do they know how the candidates got there?
All electoral candidates need as a source of income to support their campaign. A candidate's campaign is their lifeline to success in the general election. A heavily funded campaign can afford advertising to promote their candidate and further gain votes.

In Lawrence Lessig’s ted talk “ we the people, and the republic we must reclaim” he talks about the funding process in america's electoral cycle. He presents an analogy to bring a better understanding of how the funding process works. His analogy was tasteful in the way that he used the Simpsons to represent the american people.

Mr, Lessig’s felt that the funding process in america was corrupt and stressed his point that something had to change. His main point was that only 1% of the population funds campaigns, this means that only 1% of the population decides who makes it to the general election. Does this mean that the electoral process is corrupt or that only 1% of the population is willing to donate their money to the candidate of their choice.

I don't agree with Mr Lessig’s point because I don't think that choice funding is a problem. I don't think that only certain people should be able to fund just because of how much money they have or what town they live in. it should be a free non regulated process where anyone can fund whatever campaign they want and donate as much as they want.

Voting rights EX-Felons?

America the land of the free and the home of the brave, but what about the EX-felons of america, most wouldn't go as far as to say that they're brave and in most states they have restrictions on their freedoms. Some states are harsher than others when it comes to right restoration for convicts, but should convicts be given the benefit of the doubt with there freedoms in society.
Sanders, David. At the Arizona State Prison in Phoenix,

These are people that have not just done wrong or harm to themselves but there community as well. The general election decides who will be running the country you live in and how it will be run. The impact that EX- felons could have on america could change a lot of people's lives.

My concern would be giving convicts to much freedom and seeing a shift in society that favors the convicts that don't deserve it. Who is to say, who can have their voting rights back, there is no fine line that determines who should or should not get their voting rights back.

I believe that all convicts should be treated the same and have no say in how america is run because of the crimes that they committed. If they can justify committing a crime we should be able to justify taking away their voting rights.
